Cascade Door & Millwork has experienced craftsmen onsite that can build custom items that will give your home that unique touch. If you can dream it, we can build it . . . whether it is a custom mantel that will complement your living room or a custom newel post or turning. Bring us a picture and we can usually duplicate it. We know that each house is unique and that is why we offer you the ability to design your own mantle or custom column that we will build in our shop and deliver to your job site.
COLUMNS
Fiberglass columns are a great choice for Northwest living.
Cascade Door & Millwork supplies exterior fiberglass columns made and distributed by H B & G. These columns are a great choice for exterior use in the Northwest because there will not be any expansion or contraction that you may get with a decorative wood exterior column.
Columns are available in many different sizes and shapes. Each column comes with caps and bases that are available in different designs. These columns are engineered to be structural, for example a 10" column can hold up to 14,000 pounds. Using these columns for a porch or deck support eliminates the use of structural wood posts as long as what is being held up is not more than the load bearing specifications of the columns. If there is already wood posts in place and you want to install a fiberglass column, the fiberglass column can be split in half to wrap the wood post - however; if the column is split it is no longer a load bearing product.
